CASM Foundation Year
The CASM Foundation Year provides an intensive and integrated suite of practical, theoretical, cultural, industry, and communication and study skills development as a firm foundation for tertiary level music studies.
This Progam is specifically designed to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who wish to pursue tertiary level music studies, but who may not have completed Year 12 studies and/or who may not have studied music before, with the knowledges and skills required for admission to the CASM award programs.
The CASM Foundation Year is the usual point of entry for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander music students enrolling in CASM Programs. The Program is a national program and is HECS free and Abstudy approved. Studies are campus based and may be taken full time or part time.
Selection for this Program is based on musical talent and creativity, practical music proficiency, previous musical and educational experience, and motivation and readiness for tertiary level study.
