The Marnie Cowan Elder Conservatorium of Music Scholarship
The Cowan Grant was established in 1994 as a charitable trust providing financial help to tertiary students in accordance with the wishes of the late Mrs A.M. (Marnie) Cowan and her husband W.A. (Bill) Cowan of Adelaide. Each year, the Trustees will generously provide one or more scholarships to support needy students at the Elder Conservatorium of Music. Students may be enrolled in Conservatorium programs at any level - Undergraduate, VET Music or Postgraduate.
Applicants will be assessed according to academic merit and will be in receipt of a government benefit based on financial need or a demonstrated alternative. Preference may be given to regional or rural students who must leave home to study in Adelaide. The scholarship is intended to defray study costs (such as the purchase of music scores, instrument or computer), or to assist with accommodation expenses.
