Bachelor of Music Theatre

Commencing 2019, the Elder Conservatorium will launch the Bachelor of Music Theatre. The program will be lead by Mr George Torbay and will provide the intensive training and the physical and intellectual skills necessary for a career in live theatre entertainment. The study of music theatre builds broad cultural and inter-disciplinary awareness, self-confidence, communication and collaborative skills, emotional intelligence, physical presence, creativity and analytical insight.

The Elder Conservatorium is particularly well positioned, in terms of infrastructure and cultural activity to provide an attractive environment for aspiring musical theatre students. Our proximity to - and partnerships with - major cultural institutions such as the State Opera of South Australia, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Festival, South Australian Film Corporation, Music Development Office, Adelaide Festival Centre, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Adelaide Fringe represent valuable potential enhancements to the core performing arts training that we can provide.
